DESCRIPTION: EPW - Des Granges, late Recordon, Cockspur Street, London, 41mm, heavy 18K gold original OF case bearing London hallmarks for 1820, signed gold cuvette, engine turned gold dial, gold hands, KWKS, capped cylinder escapement, diamond endstone, 8J, gilt mvt with standing barrel, s#9112 within case. Comes with an unmarked fitted leather box as pictured. Gross weight of assembled watch 37.8 dwt (58.9 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound, ticks briefly with a twist and will continue ticking somewhat longer in dial up position than dial down, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, file marks to table of escape wheel bridge appear to have been made for balance clearance, numerous scattered fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; excellent dial with some scattered fine scratches, small losses of blackening to numerals; excellent hands; case shows light wear, few nicks, no dents or dings, engine turning detail reduced at rear shoulder with some small areas of full loss; bow pivots freely; glass crystal with some small nicks. Box shows ample wear, losses of exterior finish around edges, button latch not securing, upper lid closing somewhat out of alignment with lower portion.
